I’ve had some problems with viruses in the past, and i wanted to fix this so i bought the following programs, but my friend told me too many are bad, these are the ones currently installed on my computer, which ones should i remove? Or are they fine to keep them?
ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite (Checkpoint)
McAfee Total Protection
AVG 8.0 Pro
Ad-Aware Enterprise/Profession (Lavasoft)
Spybot Search and Destroy
CC Cleaner
Should i also get Norton 360, or which others does anybody recommend? Just also curious, does AVG protect you from viruses and spyware/adware? Whats best, ZoneAlarm, AVG or McAfee?
Should i try to also get someother stuff? Please tell me like what you use and please advice me.
tyvm,
Jensen

The best? A good router/firewall (Hardware not software) and a linux/OSX install. Good luck getting a virus. Bottom line is, all of that stuff works, sometimes, when its not crashing/slowing down/bsod’ing your computer. Those programs get their sticky little claws into everything and make themselves very hard to even un-install. Configure windows correctly, and you wont need any of them. heck, for about 6 years I didnt even run an anti virus. Use firefox, disable services you dont need, and dont visit sites that are known for spyware. Basically, surf smarter.
