Can someone please tell me what is the best virus scanner?
I had Norton and I got so many viruses and malware and spyware.
Then I installed avast! which detects a lot of things but doesnt remove it. It keeps alerting me a trojan was found and I can delete/move to chest and then after a while it comes back.
I have AdAware 2008 and did a full scan and still avast! is telling me I have trojans.
I even have Windows Defender which does nothing.
I am using Vista and my comp is slowing down because I have Norton, Avast! , Win Defender and AdAware all running yet viruses keep coming.
Norton tells me I have bloodhound virus.
Avast! tells me I have DNSChanger
Avast! also shows the following:
Win32:Delf-IWD [Trj] in C:\Windows\system32\andt.sys
Other viruses are found in: C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\
I even disabled system restore and did boot scans, full scans in safemode.

Symantec endpoint is a good one.I have installed windows 4 months ago with symantec endpoint protection and till now my PC has not shown any problem

Remove Norton and only use Avast!. It is not good to run 2 anti viruses. Remove AdAware and get SuperAntiSpyware instead. Run Avast! all the way through and let it decide what it's going to do about the viruses. [Quarantine, etc] Then run SuperAntiSpyware. Currently, I use Comodo Free Firewall.

Nod32 and Kapersky are the best anti viruses. The only bad part is there both not free. You should also only have 1 anti virus or else they might corrupt each other. Windows defender and ad-aware are ok though because you can have as many anti spyware things as you want.

I also have Windows Vista and I uninstalled all the Norton software that came with it, turned off Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.
I'm currently running AVG Antivirus, Zone Alarm Firewall and A-Squared Anti-Malware. Also have Spyware Blaster running in the background as well as A-Squared's background guard. My computer sped up signifigantly both within itself and running programs when I removed the programs that came with Vista and installed these instead.
I have Adaware installed but never run it any longer because even though I was running it regularly when I first ran A-Squared it found items that had been overlooked by Adaware.

Ad-Aware is against spyware and malware. Norton is anti-virus program. Windows Defender is against spyware and malware. Avast is anti-virus program.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.
