Internet security doesn't remove viruses, the program is running online all the time and removes adware and spyware browser hijackers without scanning…anti-virus scans your computer for viruses

I think what you mean is "What's the similarity between AVG antivirus and internet security?"
THEY BOTH SUCK! - very poor detection… you'll realize your pc has alot of viruses not detected by avg when you switch to a better antivirus just like I did
but seriously speaking, the antivirus is just a component of the internet security suite
I'd suggest you go for other antivirus and security programs
Avira AntiVir is the best and it's free as well
No single program can provide the best protection, so combining powerful programs is a better option

NEVER use 2 anti virus programs!!! One will recognise the other as a threat, and shut your computer down, to prevent further damage. See 'USEFUL WEBLINKS" in section 1, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~tklaveniek Use multiple anti spyware/adware programs. Adaware detected ones missed by Spybot, S & D (tested personally). Comodo, or Zonealarm (freeware) are good firewalls.

AVG Internet Security has added firewall,anti-spam, and system tools features and cost like $30 more then AVG Anti-Virus. Just look at the chart with the two products next to each other.
