What is the latest of those x32, x64 or x86? I’m planning to Install windows vista ultimate on my computer and i want to know which one should I get and why?
Will I have any problems with software compatibility?
I want to try DX10 on my games. Also will vista slow my games performance?

Honestly, I would get the 64 bit Vista Ultimate and dual boot with your XP Pro on separate drives. There’s some software out there not compatible with the 64 bit OS yet and dual booting will give you the best of both worlds. And if you ever plan to upgrade your memory over 3.5 gigs, you would need the 64 bit OS to get full advantage of the memory. 32 bit OS tops out at 3.5 gigs (roughly).
And make sure you get a ReadyBoost compatible flash drive because you will notice a good jump in Vista performance with it. Without it, I think XP runs faster for most everything.
