There’s this thing that keeps coming up on my desktop called Norton PC Check up. What is it? Does it contain a virus? How can I permanently delete it? I tried deleting it once but it came back up again…

Its a anti-virus check up. Also to delete it you can go to control panel and add remove programs and remove it there.

I have that too. It downloads for free when you get Adobe. Its free, and safe, not a virus. Its kinda pointless though, because all it does it tell you to buy Adobe Security items. Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, Add or Remove, and, once the list loads (it may take a while) click on Norton PC Checkup and uninstall it. Then delete the logo and empty it from your Trash bin.
Hope this helps.

Norton PC Checkup is a program downloaded either separately or as as a bundle with updates to Adobe Flash, provided to enable users to perform a system checkup of their Windows based personal computers. It was launched by Symantec in October 2008.
You can go to start>control panel>Add/remove a program>search for it in the list>double click on it>uninstall. :]

It is with Norton Anti-Virus.
It checks your computer every now and then and will tell you if you have any viruses of any sort.
You can delete it because it becomes quite annoying.
Only delete it if you do system scans like every week or month.
If you want to go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs (if your in XP)
If in Vista go to Start>Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a Program
Hope this helps!, Luc.

haha, funny that you ask if it’s a virus….. it’s actually anti-virus software. it won’t actually hurt your computer, but since it is constantly scanning EVERYTHING that is going on in your computer, it uses up way too much power for it to be worth it. Do NOT keep it if you want your computer to run remotely as fast as it should, your better off without any protection. try deleting it from my computer under program files. Also switch to Mozilla Firefox for your web browser, it can at least prevent some viruses from affecting your computer, because a lot are designed for Internet Explorer
