I dont know what exactly is wrong wth my computer. Some thing pops up at the bottom of my screen and says I have spyware or something and my computer is at risk. My desktop backgound changed to blue and has yellow words on it saying "warning spyware threat detected on your pc". Then it says your computer has several fatal errs due to spyware acivity. bla bla it is strongly recommeded that you download spyware software. Please click here to scan your pc for spyware. I am assuming this is part of the virus or spyware or whatever it is. I downloaded smidtfraudfix and ran that in normal and saft mode it didnt do anything. So then I downloaded spybot search and destroy and ran a scan and fixed the problems but it said it couldnt fix them all unless i restarted the computer so I did and it tried again but failed to work. Please help me I dont know what to do.

same thing happened to me i suggest the yahoo toolbar anti spy then go to run regedit and remove the registry file its under…to find out the name of the registry you look at the details of the spyware found and delete it. be very careful though you can delete the wrong thing and screw up computer DO NOT DOWNLOAD A BUNCH OF CRAP SPYWARE REMOVERS YOU DONT NEED THEM…. JUST THE TOOL BAR THING

I just had a problem last week. The only thing that fixed it (believe me, I tried many other programs) I downloaded Windows Defender, and Window Malicous Software Removal Tool, and ran a full scan (takes a long time!) And then went into start up programs on Defender, and removed that unwanted crap from the start up.
Both programs are free, and made by Microsoft.

Try out Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and you can run this program in normal Windows. Click on "Freeware" and it's free to use. Also there is RogueRemover which can also remove rogues and again it's free to use. Stop using Spybot because conventional security programs cannot get rid of rogue.
