What is wrong with my FireFox Browser?
Ever since I installed a bunch of Firefox add-ons it has been running very slowly. The browser progressively gets slower.
When I first start the browser and open task manager its using about 50000k memory usage. A few hours later it uses up 300000k for no reason!
I have to close the browser and restart and its ok again!

You have too many add-ons. I had one that was constantly crashing it, so i took it off and firefox is fine now.
Start disabling some that are less important to find out what's the cause.

There is a known memory leak in version 2. The more add-ons you install the worse it becomes. Version 3 beta is out now. They have no plans to fix version 2.

Wow, you have 30GB of RAM? I only have 3GB - You must work for the DOD or something eh? That is the most RAM I've ever heard of. You must be cutting edge!
My Firefox uses around 50MB of RAM.

That's alot of memory that Mozilla use. Try to remove some of add-ons that you'v installed on your Mozilla browser. This might helpful. If not use another browser that use less memory such as Opera.

First off, Firefox add-ons have been giving users many problems.
The versions of add-ons aren't consistent with one another and cause high memory usage problems and sometimes, complete computer crashes.
Your best bet is to uninstall firefox and reinstall it.
Common problem is the active X controls.
Having the OBJ_TABS setting enabled has been known to interfere with the ActiveX plugin (if installed). It can cause the plugin to ignore its configuration and run any ActiveX control, instead of the controls it is restricted to. Such a situation could potentially be a big security risk.
If you have the ActiveX plugin, keep the Adblock OBJ_TABS setting disabled, or update to Firefox 1.5.0.7 or later versions, which include a fix.
Basicly, uninstall firefox, locate the newest version, and install it. Than work from there.
