I'm going to get a Mac. There is no alternate decision, and I am NOT getting a PC because I have enough PCs at home to fill a box. I need a Mac for compatibility reasons.
I want a MacBook, but I have a debate between the MacBook regular and the MacBook Pro. I don't want the MacBook Air - it has to be a regular or a Pro. Forget about price for the moment and tell me, based on size and workability, which one I should get, and what size (15- or 17-inch for Pros, black or white for regulars, and what GHz if it's white/15-inch)

It all depends on what you'd like to do with your Mac.
Macbooks are good for entry level users that do more basic things, such as word processing, and surfing the web, editing personal photos, making home movies etc. Apple only makes them with a 13.3" display. If you need the ability to burn the DVDs, the mid-range white and black ones are capable of doing this, the entry level model isn't. The only difference between the mid-range white and the black models are the color and the size of the hard drive (an extra 90 GB on the black)
But if you're planning on doing professional grade design or editing work I'd have to recommend the Macbook Pro. The glossy screens on the Macbooks artificially oversaturate the colors, so output looks slightly off, and the glare can be irritating.
The Macbooks also come with the crappier Intel graphics card, so if you plan on doing intense gaming or 3D modeling, you might be disappointed.
The Macbook Pros come with the Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT card (256MB on the entry level model, 512MB on the premium model) and you'd also be able to hook them up to a display as large as 30" (Max size for the Macbook is 23")
Most of my customers, if they do opt for the Macbook Pro, tend to go with the 15" models. The 17" is just too heavy for most people to lug around, and you'll get a shorter battery life because of the bigger display.
The multi-touch trackpad and backlit keyboard on the Macbook Pro are just too damn cool LOL and those features aren't available on the Macbooks.
