I'm using avast home 4.8 free.
What other antivirusis good to use which doesn't interfere with avast?
To make the pc safer in case avast can't repair an infected file, or as an alternative.
Do not recommed norton, mcafee or these bloated software.

u cant have two no matter what they will interfer, both will try to run as main antivirus and slow yur pc down like heck, use combos of antivrus spyware, malware, adware remover instead, spyhunter is good and so is search and destroy

Pretty any antivirus will interfere with Avast, as they will both be wanting to run on-demand scanning and getting in each others way.
The only one I know of that doesn't do on-demand scanning is clamwin. You might try that, but I'd still be skeptical that it might still cause issues, especially with Quarantine vaults.

try a free online scan from Trend Micro

You really shouldn't use more than one anti-virus at once, as they might cancel each other out when it comes to certain files. You can use AVG 8, i got through scans by both at the same time, but the results were both the same (just tracking cookies) so you could try that:

BTW, Spybot isn't an anti-virus, it's an anti-spyware, but get it aswell because it doesn't conflict with either AVG or Avast.
Hope that helps =]

You don't need another antivirus…you just need something to take care of spyware/malware. Spybot S&D is pretty good, and so is SuperAntispyware and Spyhunter. The first two are free, but you gotta buy Spyhunter (it performs really well - it's worth paying for as opposed to some other ones…)
