I have a Lenovo x61, somewhat new, that I use for school and personal computing. I don't install a lot of stuff onto it nor do I do any gaming. For some reason, I have <10% free space left!! In my C: drive (?), it says I only have "3.02 GB free of 107 GB" and it shows a red color/warning.
Which of the following can I freely uninstall to free up space? I have NO IDEA which ones are critical and which ones are useless. Please let me know :
1. Client Security Solutions
2. System Migration Assistant
3. ThinkVantage System Update
4. Maintenance Manager
5. ThinkVantage Active Protection System
6. ThinkVantage Access Connections
7. Microsoft Silverlight (I have Microsoft but never heard of this)
8. Apple Mobile Device Support (for iTunes? iPhone?)
9. MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430)
10. MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB936181)
11. MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB941833)
12. Bonjour (some Apple program?)
#1-6 are specific for Lenovos but are they critical programs I need to keep? #9-11, look important but don't know what they are.
I was wondering - when I first got this laptop, it was superfast. How can I go back to the way it was (with only the programs/stuff it came with - ex. Microsoft Office, etc.) when I first bought it? or should I just stick with it and buy more RAMs? Would this add weight to the laptop?
Thanks a bunch. I don't know anything about computers and would hate to pay a BestBuy/Think Geek guy!!
=)
