WEP and WPA - WPA or WPA2 (newer) is much more secure than WEP.

The two are WEP and WPA. If given the choice allways use WPA, it's more secure. If you also want more security also consider turning off the SSID Broadcast.

“Wired Equivalent Privacy” is used for data encryption of Wi-Fi networks to prevent access to and the observation of the wireless network. WEP is not considered secure becuase there is existing software programs designed to break its encryption.
Password cracking can be defeated by using a passphrase of at least 5 Diceware words or 14 completely random letters with WPA and WPA2.
