Windows Defender Or Spybot Search And Destroy?
*i have both but i want to get rid of one cuz it's too much space
Spybot works great
and im a little skeptical about windows defender it doesnt do much, and ive heard a lot of bad things about it.
I also have Superanti spyware free edition so yeah should that one be deleted too but i like it ?

unless you are an advanced user spybot sucks and so does windows defender, get spyware doctor starter editio from google pack or get avast antivirus which includes antispyware and antirootkit

Spybot: Search and Destroy is a very good anti-spyware and is excellent at finding threats. It's residant shield is effective and the Teatimer is good for fixing holes in IE. Windows Defender and Spybot are a good combination, but Spybot and Ad-aware are a even better solution

For above, Avast! does not include anti-spyware…?

      Hello,

Spybot search and destroy is not capable to remove spywars like Smitfraud ( a dangerous spyware) or Vundo .

Superanti-spyware is complete package . it can destroy Vundos, malwares,Worms,Smitfrauds, and it can repaire disabled softwares due to infection . Superantispyware free edition is free and one of the best.

Windows Defender : poor effectiveness, not very good .

      Good luck! :D

      spy-doctor.

But the best anti-spyware is your self. Try to avoid unknown website, pirated website that provide pirated software, XXX website,. This website likely to place a malware to your pc.

Always read any windows popup and notice before click "ok" or allow.

Install 3rd party firewall eg: zone alarm pro(that provide outbound protection, notice that windows firewall just provide inbound protection only). This help to minimized spyware attack.

I hope this will help u.

      Firefox+Adblock Plus +noscript
Download and run firefox to protect your from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ) .Then update your windows through firefox
Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs
      http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/2007/05/spyware-fighter-essentials.html
install addition protection into firefox with
      Adblock Plus

      There's a browser safer than Firefox…
      …it is Firefox, with NoScript!

      2. Run the vundo and combo fix http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/2007/05/vundofix-and-combo-fix.html

      3. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

      5. Run a complete scan with free curing utility Dr.Web CureIt!

It really depends on what operating system you have. So it is better to try the free ones available and choose the one that suits you best. Free edition is good and enough for homes,if you need it for an office, buy it. Check out http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-sAFtLsc8erIoh.ENhksr2KyG for more details.
