Step 1: Make sure that you have an up to date antivirus program. If you don't, install AVG. You should only have one antivirus program. (If you need to uninstall your antivirus, use RevoUninstaller)
Step 2: Visit the Google Pack website, and use it to download Spyware Doctor.
Step 3: Download and install ThreatFire.
Step 4: Make sure to use Mozilla's Firefox from here on out. Also, install the Adblock Plus and NoScript add-ons for it.
Step 5: Make sure that you have a firewall program on your computer. If you don't, install Comodo.
Step 6: Turn off System Restore, and restart in safe mode
Step 7: Run scans will the programs above.
This is just a quick summary of what you should do. For other recommended programs, and their optimal settings, visit my guide on the matter. http://prometechus.blogspot.com/2007/09/viruses-spyware.html FEEL FREE TO IM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

Some people seem to have success with an anti-virus or anti-spyware program but often it re-appears. Your best bet might be to use HijackThis but *don't* use it without qualified guidance or you can do much more harm than good. You can get free assistance from a number of specialist malware-removal forums, e.g. Bleeping Computer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/

Download and run firefox to protect your from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ) .Then update your windows through firefox
Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs

install addition protection into firefox with
Adblock Plus 0.7.5.3

There's a browser safer than Firefox…
…it is Firefox, with NoScript!

I know…I have some spyware problems often because my
nephew keeps downloading games and going to free games
on line. I have downloaded several softwares and it's hard to
find the right one or one that works. I was able to stop the
browser high jack after installing Zero Spyware but I don't know
how the spyware/malware went back inside even after scanning the computer with Zero Spyware. I have tried to remove it with
Spy Terminator but it was not able to pick up the file. I have taken someone's advice here and download the AVG Spyware the free edition. I know it says that it will fully protect me with real time protection for 30 days but I would have to
buy it if I wanted real time protection…but I can't afford to
pay but I will just have it scan in case I get browser high jacked again. Spy Terinmator is good but sometimes it asks me if I should allow or block and I don't know if it's a virus/spyware. I do have Ad Ware but that didn't remove the
bad file. I just ran the AVG Spyware and it found a High risk file/cookie. I told it to remove all those 377 cookie trackware or whatever it said it found. I am also crack…I mean..I am
also using AVG Free Edition Virus and I have been for over
one year(sometimes it finds a virus and it tells me without
scanning) but it was not able to find the spyware but that
is a Virus software. Also…after you run the AVG Spyware,
but sure to have a free Firewall so it could tell you what
files are trying to go inside your PC. I use PC Tools Firewall the free one and it's good. Well, I think I will keep AVG spyware free limited and run it in case I get spyware/ adware
and I will keep Zero Spyware limited because it sometimes
finds a dialer thing and that could be cause the adware.
Spy Terinmator is free and it has real time protection but
like I said…it's tricky finds which files should be allowed since
you could be allowing adware (my nephew keeps downloading those free games which seems to have adware).

If your computer has been accessing the Internet unprotected it is infected. Spyware has surpassed viruses as the #1 threat to identity theft and without protection your Internet activities are never private.
To remove it.
