Well… I'm on my computer just about everyday and everything's been fine
Today when I turned it on it was freezing alot and working really slow. Thenn it restarted randomly on it's on. And nothing was on my desktop… just the background. So I turned the computer off for about 5 minutes and turned it back on, the desktop items were back and then when I tried to open up a program my computer frozed again! Sooo… it wouldn't come back so I had to pull the plug out aand put it back in again. Turned the computer on, blank desktop and it's still freezing and slow! Everytime I try to click on something from the start menu… the comptuer freezes!
What's wrong!

Sounds like a virus or ad/spyware. You can start your computer in safe mode by pressing f8 while it is loading and then go to start windows in safe mode, it will look funny but it should load normal. Try downloading avast anti-virus and ad-aware from download.com and update both programs and run them, if you have never ran these type of programs they will almost for sure find something that shouldn't be there. Both programs are free and work great, don't let other people on your pc they may be the culprit. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Make sure your antivirus is up to date. Restart in safe mode. Hit F8 repeatedly after the BIOS screen before windows starts to load. This brings up a menu to get into safe mode if you need to, allow network from this menu to get online and download antivirus updates.
Run your antivirus in safe mode.

Hmmm … sounds like something got corrupted and/or you've got a virus.
Can you do a system restore, if you've got Xp or Vista?
Can you run the command prompt? (Start > Run > type in "cmd" w/o quotes)
Is your antivirus software up and running, updated?
If you can't do any of the above, restart or shut down, start your computer.
After that, press the F12 key (keep pressing, don't press and hold) until you get a black screen with text. Select Safe Mode with the arrow keys and Enter.
If the F12 key doesn't work, try F8.
Everything SHOULD be running smoothly, so try your antivirus software, uninstalling any recently added programs, etc. Maybe download a trusted antivirus program from the internet.
Call your computer manufacturer if that doesn't work (emachines, dell, hp, etc.)
Your last resort will be using your original computer CD to reformat your comp (thus losing all files, data, programs, etc.) to original settings.

What was the last thing you installed it often caused by incorrectly installed software, I had a very similar problem as a last thing to try before reformatting I downloaded and scanned my PC with Advanced WindowsCare V2 - http://www.download.com/Advanced-WindowsCare-Personal/3000-2086_4-10407614.html?tag=lst-1&cdlPid=10858847 and it actually worked.
As you cannot boot normally try booting into safe mode with networking then download it, run a scan and click fix problems.
