I have had Norton Anti-Virus for a few months now and it has been working perfectly untill today! I have a schedualed virus scan at this time and when it opened to start scanning a message poped up saying "Symantec service Framework has stopped working and was closed, a problem caused the application to stop working correctly.Windows will notify you if a solution is available" it always says the same thing today and they dn't notify me at all! Before this happened I installed Royale theme and AlarmWiz, could those be what caused this? What should I do?? My computer is now vaulnorable! I am using Windows Vista.
I can't even open up Norton Anti-Virus
I did system restore but then when it restarted my computer it said it could not complete because of an unspecified error and it asked me if i wanted to try again.

that's ok u can fix this by reinstalling the norton but i suggest to do system restore to previous dates that are before installing the royale theme,u can do by start->accessories->system tools->system restore and restore it,it will become as good as before bye.

Norton Anti-Virus is a very large "hoggy" program and it "conflicts" with many other programs.
This means it takes up a lot of memory to run
and it often "sees" other PROGRAMS, such as AlarmWiz as a threat. In other words, the programming leaves room for lots of improvement.
It has been known to let a virus download, before it finds it (not good), IF it finds it.
Not to mention, it's expensive.
Here is a waaaaay better tool
THAT DOES A BETTER JOB!
and it's FREE.
So go to Control Panel >remove Symantec Norton
and get this:
Avast free Home Edition
Get it here:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht…
And please do a "thorough" scan as soon as you get it downloaded. The user interface is simple. Click the left side, and in the top menu that comes up, select thorough scan.
When it finds a culprit DELETE, (do not quaranteen).
Then allow it to run all of the time, and you will be completely protected. It will "automatically" update itself, also for free.
You only need to renew your registration once a year, also free.
I've tried them all, and have had wonderful results with this one for the last 5 years.
