A lot of conflicts on some peoples pc’s. It’s not the best out there love; even the top people in the pc world say this too. Norton says my pc is poor when it’s a year and half old lol CHEEK!
It’s rubbish compared to AVG

Norton is a large suite that ‘hooks’ the kernel (that is deep inside the operating system core) and Windows doesn’t like this kind of modification.
This ‘hook’ creates a ripple effect through many of the outer ‘layers’ of the operating system, and slows down the whole shee-bang.

its a big name and its VERY popular therefore it is bashed.
It is not a bad program alhough I use Trend Micro. The new norton 2009 products are very good and lite on your pc.

Anything that is popular will get critized. Obama, McCain, Microsoft, Apple, Violence, Sex, Nike, Adidas, The Internet… think about it.

Norton anti-virus live update are responsible for BSOD ( Blue Screen Of Death )
The live update is worst than viruses.
see story

According to an article by the Washington Post, Norton Antivirus
had one of the worst average response times for providing virus
definition updates based on the worst virus outbreaks, lagging
behind every major competitor, including NOD32, Kaspersky, Quick Heal, F-Secure, Sophos, Avira, Trend Micro, F-Prot, Panda, Protector Plus, AVG, avast!, ClamWin, and McAfee.
From experiences, most of my friends that ask me for help to remove virus from their PC are using Norton. The live update will die suddenly without warning and leave that PC open to attack from newer viruses.
Some of them have a paid version of Norton and it is months away from expires.
Norton also use up lots of memory and slow down the PC. Sometimes, it fail to remove threats that are detected and you need to resort to a FREE anti-virus like Clamwin to remove the threat.
Therefore, it is better to use a FREE anti-virus because if the anti-virus cannot detect the virus. You got a good excuse - it is free.
However, when you paid for an anti-virus and it cannot detect the threats, you will feel very fustrated and stupid to pay so much money for a piece of junk.
