This is not a problem with tabs - I know how to use them. This relates to individual windows. Like when you click a link and it opens in its own window. If I close one, they all close. Often I can get as many as 10 windows open - I can't close any until I am done with all of them or all my work and seaches go caput. I forget and then I want to throw my poor offending computer.
Details: This has been hapening since the first day I bought this computer which was about two months ago.
I am running IE 7.0 and Windows Vista Home edition (yuck).
I downloaded and am generally happy with Firefox but some things are just not adapted well to Firefox (my bank's programs, hotmail, snapfish to name a few).

This might be an error, which is likely to be already resolved. Try installing the latest updates from Windows Update. If this don't help you, also install the optional updates related to Internet Explorer.

My suggestion would be to kick vista and downgrade to XP or even downgrade internet explorer. However this is usually not an option or a good idea so maybe you can update to the next service pack for vista or upgrading internet explorer by going to microsofts website. It sounds like a bug that can only be fixed through an update of the operating system or software. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to message me. Good luck.
