may be it not support for windows Xp and also Xp SP 2 is not a good version friend try to update to SP 3

maybe the instalation was not fix or you used the corrupt file..

Update your Windows XP to Service Pack 3 and try again or your Windows Installer is too old and don’t support Kaspersky 2010 installation. Go to Microsoft, and update Windows Installer to 4.5. or upgrade to Service Pack 3.
Still same problem, re download Kaspersky 2010 again from kaspersky.com.
