Sometimes when it updates, I get a warning from Vista (not Trend Micro) saying that my computer is not protected, I have numerous security problems, click here to resolve, etc., and then when I click on the little warning, it takes me to a page that says that the malware protection is off. But I don't even have to turn it on because after about 30 seconds to 1 minute, it turns itself back on. Is that normal for Trend Micro to do when it updates itself???
Thanks, I'll pick a best answer TODAY!

Things like virus and malware definitions can be updated on the fly, but the program has to suspend temporarily to update core components, since they can't be modified while in use.
Consider yourself lucky. Some AV programs require a reboot to update core components. <G>
