Try Grisoft AVG Anti-Virus (Free Edition).
I use the enterprise network version of the Anti-Malware product at work and found it works quite well.

Avast is the nearest freebie you'll get to Norton. The others have serious omissions in what they protect you from. Check-out what you get:
