This sounds kind of stupid, but I dont know were the firewall is on my friends computer. I wanted to play a game called CoV but it wouldnt connect to the game while it does connect to the internet. I called my friend and said you should check the firewall. But I dont know were things are in his laptop. This is a Toshiba and windows laptop. Please help!!

This is a tricky question because it really depends. If there is no third party software firewall then its likely you're running windows firewall. You can find this if you go into control panel and look for firewall. Windows firewall is very basic and doesn't have a lot of options in it. The other more likely possibility is that you may have a router with a hardware firewall and that may need to be configured for port forwarding certain ports used specifically for your game directly to your computer. Specifics on this depend on your router.

The firewall can be accessed the same way on all Windows computers:
Start –> Control Panel –> Windows Firewall.
If you want to add something to the exceptions list:
Exceptions –> Add Program… –> a list of programs will show, select the one you want to add and hit OK.

Assuming this is the built in Windows firewall and not a 3rd party one, go to the control panel and then the windows firewall icon. Set it to off.
If it already is off, either there is a different firewall installed or its not a firewall related issue.
