I'm currently using a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop, OS Windows Vista Home Premium and its protection consists of McAfee 7.2 and Webroot Spy Sweeper, the latter's subscription expiring.
My desktop PC is a Pentium 4 clone w/ 1GB RAM, OS Windows XP with a tandem protection of AVG and Avast! programs. Both antivirus programs run side-by-side and provides great protection; where one prog can't detect a malware/virus the other detects and eliminates it. I also use Norton 2006 Utilities for repairing registries damaged by trojans/viruses.
However, Vista is whole new ballgame for me and previous experiences with McAfee in the past were not too good; McAfee now seems to be efficient. I'd appreciate some light shed on the question above so that I can provide maximum protection for the laptop (getting the laptop busted by viruses/trojans/malware sucks and I don't want to go through the hassle of having to repeatedly make reparations on it).
Thanks.
