I would go for Nod32 - lighter than Kaspersky.

Id go with Kaspersky as ive never heard of Avira.
Also, Kaspersky as been at the top of most reviews when it comes to Pc Security, its highly recommended.
But also, as many people will note on here, have you tried the free route?
ie: Zonealarm for firewall
AVG for anti virus
Spybot / Spyware Terminator / AdAware for spyware
These are all free and just as good as most internet security packages.
Personall, if you dont mind paying for it then i would have Kaspersky, but remember that there are free programs that do the same thing just as good.

Neither. AVG and Avast! are better anti-virus programs than either. For other Security use the ZoneAlarm firewall. To remove malware etc. use Spybot Search & Destroy and AdAware.
these programs are all some of the best in their field and are all free.
If you would prefer using either of those i’d advise against kaspersky. It’s almost impossible to remove from your computer.

I installed AVG free edition and Spybot-Search&Destroy on my laptop. I regularly update the definitions and believe me no infection so far.
