I’m finally considering paying for an antirvirus/anti-malware application.
Which, in your opinion, is the better option, or do you think that there’s something better on the market?
Thank you for your help.
I’m running MS Vista Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop and presently using Avira Antivir.

Heard Kaspersky was good.
I had problems with ESET.
But now I use Avast Pro 4.8
Has great detection, not so many false positives, and integrated anti-rootkit. Also goes great with S&D Spybot (free Anti-malware)

I use Kaspersky, my wife uses Eset. Both are very good security programs and you should be happy with either. I’d honestly go with whichever one you can find cheaper.

Excellent timing. I ran Kaspersky 2008 and 2009 and since i’ve been testing Windows 7 and with the release this week and also my license for Kaspersky expired a couple of months ago i purchase ESET NOD 32 x64.
I used to highly recommend Kaspersky but after using ESET Anti Virus i’ve found there is nothing better. Seamless, smooth, less false positives, quicker detection and most of all IT DOES NOT SLOW YOU DOWN!
Again i used to use Kaspersky Internet Security. Now to save some money and after doing months of research and testing i use ESET NOD 32 x64 Anti Virus and COMODO Firewall Pro.
Comodo is FREE and is one of the #1 rated firewalls out there. Nothing compares to it’s strength and it is 100% free!
So i’ve been using the two again for a couple months, virus free, secure and safe!
Go with ESET NOD 32 my friend!
