spybot, ad-aware, AVG, Avast. or any other suggestions? ive heard mostly about AVG and Avast that they are more recommeneded then any other ones.
I have Norton and im uninstalling it at this moment because its causing too many problems and slows down my computer. So right after this I have to download something new, and I need something thats free too!

Eset Nod 32 AV is excellent. Small footprint, doesn't hog system resources, well behaved, what more could you ask for?

Norton should be uninstalled instantly.
Avast and AVG are popular because they are free. Between the two, I find AVG much better and more user friendly. Avast is just confusing with it's interface.
I personally like Kaspersky. I have never had a problem with it and it catches plenty that the other programs do not. It's not free, but is reasonably priced and does an excellent job. The interface is also very nice. It also does not slow down the machine.
Note: Spybot and Adaware are not anti-virus programs. They are malware removal tools. There is a difference. I have Kaspersky, Spybot, and Adaware installed on my machine and use all three. Spybot and AdAware combined make a good team for malware / spyware, while Kaspersky takes care of viruses and the like.

Another vote for Avast here.

Spybot and Ad-Aware are antispyware, not antivirus.
I think Spybot is acceptable, but (IMO) Ad-Aware is useless.
My suggestion for an antispy is Superantispyware:

*** Also, keep this link handy for when you uninstall your Norton. After you do your uninstall from add/remove programs, you'll need the Norton Removal Tool:
