AD-Aware 2007 is useless., the only good version they had was SE., 2007 tends to freeze up during updates., and is as slow as old heck., Spybot or Superantispyware are your best bets and their also both free., which is a bonus.,

In the CPU Magazine, January 2008, the winning choice was a close decision between Spyware Doctor and Spysweeper. Spyware Doctor was the winner because it had a simpler, easy-to use interface. Detection rates and effectiveness were the same. (fyi, Ad-Aware 2007, Spybot, and Windows Defender received lower ratings.)

Personally i think Spysweeper is better, but i would
as i use it.I have used Spyware Doctor before and
its an excellent program.
You almost seem upset they don't find much, but its because of safe surfing on your part and
Spysweeper, which is in realtime blocking what it
finds, including tracking cookies and they probably
leave a few behind for the poor old Doctor and
hence him finding one or two which Spysweeper don't consider harmful.
There's a lot of people out there who would love
to have your computer problem, with the top two
antispywares in most comparitives looking after
them so diligently.
