Every time I try to uninstall it, I get this error message:
“The Windows Installer Service could not be assessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed.”
Ughh, I’m beginning to hate Microsoft.
Anyone know what should I do? I need it off my computer so I can install Office 2007!
And no, my computer is not in safe mode.
Obviously I've tried Add/Remove, I just bought a new computer, and next I'll try manually removing it but I'd like to know if there's a way other than than.
that**
not "than"….sorry, spelling mistake.

the uninstall info are corrupt you can try to repair your installation/reinstalling the old 2003 copy, the files in the windows/install folder mustve been corrupted or deleted sometimes it happens when using disk cleanup. A fresh reinstall of it will help, doing it manually is actually really hard as there are many things associated with it in the registry.

The best advice I can give you is to uninstall it from Add or Remove Programs which your probably did….if it gives you weird errors like that, then something is up. Many times when I uninstalled Office 2003, I never got that error alert..Restart the computer and try again, if that error pops up again, then I don't know what it could be…..Going in safe mode wont make a difference. You can give it a try though…
If it wont let you, then it might be an error or some kind of software bug in Microsoft Office 2003. If your on XP, you can use System restore to turn back the clock before this incident. Best of luck.
