Why can't I use 5.1 speaker settings in Windows Vista?

June 27th, 2008 · 1 Comment

In Windows XP I could hear sound coming out of all 5 of my speakers and subwoofer just fine. But ever since I installed Windows Vista I have been getting audio only from 2 speakers - left and right channels only. I have tried two different sound cards - my built-in sound card as well as a Creative Audigy which I am currently using. Is there a way to fix this problem and be able to hear sound coming out of all 5 speakers?

Update your sound card drivers for vista version
