Last night my PC was running well. But I decided that it was time to do some PC maintenance. So I deleted a bunch of my files, uninstalled some programs, ran CCleaner, and started a HD defrag. I decided to sleep and didn't want to leave my computer running overnight so I stopped the defrag and shut down my PC. The next morning I turned on my PC and restarted the defrag and let it run till it finished. Then I ran a registry defrag and let that finish. However, now my PC is running really slowly. I restored my registry (using a backup I made last night) and ran AVG. There was little to now improvement. My PC takes like 10 minutes to boot up fully. When I open FF3, it takes a minute for FF3 to open. My music is all choppy and laggy as well… Oh and even though I only have FF3 open and iTunes, my CPU usage is around 80%-100%. I'm fairly sure I don't have any malware since I use AVG and Comodo.
Comp Specs:
Windows XP SP2
AMD x2 5200+ (45nm)
2gb RAM
Nvidea 8500GT 256mb

you may want to run a scan just incase. if that comes up with nothing, you may want to simply reseat your ram. just shutdown your PC, pull the ram out, and put it back in. be sure to push it all the way in or you can fry the motherboard or the ram. not good.

1.It could a malware or a Virus. Run a virus check if you have one. If that doesn't solve the problem, then your PC must be running out low on memory and needs to be upgraded. It depends on how much stuff you have on your PC.
2. Check how much stuff you have on your start up memory.
Good Luck

Yeah use system restore. You prolly deleted some important files accidentally. If system restore didn't "restore" your pc as before then try a complete clean install of your PC OS.
