Every time I open my browser,I get a popup telling me something- Cds are waiting for me to write to them, AVG needs to update, Adobe Reader needs updating…ad infinitum I want to get online not wade through obstructions. When I try to click them out, they ask if I am sure as if I do not know my own mind. Of course I am sure I do not need to update if I use my computer 5-10 or more times each day. Sometimes i am not going online and want to type a document. What can I do to get rid of such annoyance. Deleting them would expose my vulnerability.[I hate activeX and the need to download plug ins-especially if Windows refuses them for my safety]. i am not complaining per se. I would like to know if this is normal behaviour or I need to take some action.

Just run the updates, especially for AVG and Adobe (the updates usually are to close a security problem).
