I was hit by a rogue virus named antivirus xp 2008 and just recently got rid of it (except with some of the .dll’s or start up items). If anyone has been hit by this they know that it snatches the ability to change your desktop wallpaper and screen saver.
When I got those abilities back, my computer wasn’t the same as it was. The desktop background image has a background with it. How can the wallpaper have two backgrounds? I know when I pick the none (for no background) it automatically switches to a plain color for your background.
My problem is, when I chose the background Azul, it still has a color behind it and it shows around my icons on the desktop. Anyone know how to repair this?

The rogue anti viruses might have injected extra dll’s into your system and you probably didn’t remove them.
I’m guessing these extra dll’s will need to be removed fully.
Try inserting your Windows XP disc and using the /sfc scannow command
