I have Windows XP - Why is it after so many years the computer starts to slow down when I try to do things right.
I clean the disk, defrag, run ad aware 2008, CCleaner, run my symantec very often clean the browsing history, keep the registy clean and run spybot but yet, doing all of this it appears the computer is slowing down. I have also uninstalled programs I never use. I have an AT&T DSL connection. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you very much for the tips.

So your computer is slowing down when you try to something right?? such as??
if you talking about running softwares, Office, IE, ..etc, then it most likely you need to upgrade the RAM, or maybe change it. as you know that’s where all softwares get loaded to run. and by saying ‘many years’ seems like you need an upgrade.
Am thinking that all windows updates and antivirus updates will add extra load to your OS, it’s not your computer is slowing down, it is the updates of all these softwares.
Try to get RAM from this website:
