Why does the Intrusion Prevention check box does not get checked whenever clicked? for Norton 360 2.0?

i have norton 360 2.0, i installed it recently and everything was fine. but suddenly, the intrusion prevention was at risk, so i went to the firewall protection and then to intrusion prevention, when i clicked on it, nothing happened and also if i click the fix button, nothing happens as well! please help. i went to the norton website but they say it needs to be uninstalled.
