Why doesn't my Firefox doesn't work anymore?

June 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I tried restarting and reinstalling, but they don't work. Help!??
Whenever I try to open Firefox, it doesn't do anything. It just stands there. I don't know why because it just started today after installing the new AOL Toolbar update. However, when I look in the task manager>Processes, Firefox is "active". I have tried re-installing and rebooting my computer, but these methods don't seem to have an effect on it. I even tried getting rid of my Firefox profile and it still didn't work. Could someone offer some advice? Help would be appreciated.

I want you to think for a moment about your question. A good question to ask yourself is, "Given my information, will anybody be able to help me?" You should soon realize that your question is much too vague for anybody to provide a reasonable answer. Now, repost your question, and be sure to explain the problem more fully.

There are two ways to solve this problem: a) uninstall the AOL toolbar, since after that was installed the problems started, or b) if you are using Windows XP, go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore, and click on "Restore my computer to an earlier time", choose the day before you noticed the problem, and after your computer reboots, Firefox should work fine.

(Note: I don't have Vista or a Mac, but they might have a System Restore program as well.)

      Good luck!
