I heard they’ve been hacked by N. Korea the past few days. This just shows how terrible government is. With trillions in spending they don’t even think to get Norton, Symantec or another product like that. I have Norton and have never had a problem. In my opinion this is absolute proof government doesn’t work but of course the media will never ask a simple question like this. This is exactly why I voted for Ron Paul.

Because Norton and Symantec are jokes I could get past them in 2 sec. I think they already use Symantec.

First of all Norton is Symantec. Symantec is the company and Norton is the product. To answer your question though. NORTON SUCKS OUT LOUD. Things are bad enough as it is.

Government firewall systems are far greater than any product available for personal use. I can guarantee you any government can get past your firewall in a split-second.
On top of that, Norton is definitely not a good example of a firewall to use.

That page will show you just how "secure" your beloved software really is.

I personally (as a malware researcher) think Symantec’s Norton is a joke. Get DriveSentry and Malwarebytes.
Detection & Prevention = DriveSentry
Removal and Detection = Malwarebytes

Umm, the reason is (whether or not there are any alleged "Korean "hacking"" attempts, successful or not, I have no intention to research) the US DoD pretty much invented the internet as well as being the pioneers of any "computer security" to speak of.
You seem to be a bit ignorant…
(what a looser, "symnatec or norton") Norton is NOTHING compared to what the US government has. I’d just have to ask: is North Korea targeting you? You’d be screwed so deeply, (if they can indeed "hack" the us government whatever that may imply) wow… this question is hardly worth my effort… why am I even here?

ZOMG, you are joking, right? they weren’t even hacked, it was a DDoS attack. that means that there was no need for a hack, the bots were just requesting an enormous amount of data, so the websites went down. Big difference, believe me.
