If I visit a Web page that requires WMP or Shockwave to work properly (i.e. graphics, games, etc.), it will freeze the Firefox browser, not the computer, just the browser. If I visit the same sites with IE, it will work, but the graphics are "jerky" - it looks like they stop and start and do not run in a smooth action. I have an older computer running Windows 98 on a Pentium III 800 MHz processor with 256 MB RAM. Is this because of my old hardware or a flaw in the graphics software or a flaw in the browser's software, or a combo of the above? Any advice on how to get good working graphics woth Firefox? Thanks.

Its because of your rediculous hardware.
Im surprised your computer can support a modern operating system never mind running any programs.
Its amazing you can even start firefox, and no wonder that it doesnt want to run plugins.

Firefox should be able to answer all your questions. They are
very helpful. But it sounds to me like your computer, needs a
up grade.
