My computer has run decently before. However, after a week of not using it, I restarted it. I found that it was running ridiculously slow, and was freezing. No media, whether it be a video or audio, would run without jumping and skipping. I couldn't type fluently because it froze as I typed. You get the point. Keep in mind that I didn't make ANY changes recently. So, being fairly savvy with computers, I did the following things.
-Uninstalled unnecessary programs
-Removed unnecessary files (personal files, temporary internet files, etc. )
-Installed a good firewall, good antispyware, and good antivirus
-Removed all malware of any kind
-Cleaned the registry (both before and after other steps)
-Ran disk cleanup
-Ran chkdsk
-Defragmented my hard drive (multiple times)
-Modified my startup to load only a minimal amount of programs
Even after all of this, my computer is running extremely slow still. I am completely taken aback as this has never happened before for no reason. Suggestions?

check device manager for resource conflicts. perform a system restore to a recovery point prior to the problems. hook up the pc to a UPS. update drivers for hardware. try to format and reinstall OS, could be some new rogue programs on your system that the antispyware/antivirus missed or corruption in the OS. could be hardware starting to go flaky and ready to fail soon.
