On every other computer I use, when Firefox crashes, it will automatically save my session and when I reopen it my session will be restored. My Firefox on my home PC does not. It seems to restore a session of mine from long ago or something (the same websites from a crash a LONG time ago.)
example of how this comes about:
I am using Firefox, Firefox locks up for some reason, I click to end the unresponsive program, when I reopen it I get the option to restore my last session, BUT it does not restore my last session… but a session long since past… the same one over and over again when this scenario happens

Go to Tools —-> Options
#Click Privacy Tab, Check "Accept Cookies From site" and then select "Until they expire" in the drop down List box,
#Uncheck "Always Clear my private data while I Close Firefox" and then Click "OK"

I have had this problem too and messed around with it a lot but found it is still pretty unreliable. The best luck I have had is with installing a plugin called TabMixPlus, which, among its many great features, has a session restore feature that is more reliable than Firefox's and you can, if you wish, manually save sessions to ensure you can recall them later.
I consider it one of my "must have" add-ons for Firefox:

This discussion thread has more about the Firefox Session Restore feature:

And of course Firefox 3.0 is coming soon - in the next month or so - perhaps the Session Restore feature will be a little more stable in this new version.
