1 Run CHKDSK, it restores missing files.
or
2 go to Start>Run and type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes, have your installation OS CD ready on the standbye That’ll replace any missing or corrupt system files

Generally a format and reinstall of the OS will help with hardware upgrades as earlier version of os dont usually support such hardware upgrade. So if nothing turns up properly, try formatting and reinstallin the OS. That will definitely help.

Run the disk cleanup that came with windows. Download “Glary Utilities” and run the registry fix. That is all you need to do.
