May 4th, 2008 · 12 Comments

since i had sky broadband installed my computer has been running slow, ive defragged it deleted all temporary files and cookies, removed unnecessary programs that could be using up disk space, and ive disconnected it from the broadband and its still running slow, apart from dying RAM i cant think of anything else it could be, does anyone have any suggestions, thanks.

You probably have some form of malware installed on your computer. I would recommend installing and running anti-virus and anti-spyware software.

Some of the programs that you install have components that run all the time, even when the main program is not open. These components may be periodically looking for updates, running some maintenance tasks, etc. These are generally harmless, but if you have a lot of them running, watch out. They can slow down your computer significantly. Often the software in question will have options that allow you to disable background tasks, so read the User's Manual. Oh, just kidding. Simply poke around the menus and see if you can find that setting.

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
