You have too many programs running in the background and most likely you're computer lacks ram. If you're running on Vista, best to have 2GB of RAM. Check also if you have a virus, scan using an anti-virus program

Maybe you have less memory and viruses. try not to just defrag it but scan it too. Maybe there are lots of virus going on in your computer. And maybe also the virus already affects your memory and OS. Try to reformat it or just repair it. Remember if you reformat it make sure to back-up your important files to your partition drive (i.e. Local Disk (E:)) f your computer is partition or repair it, it will repair your computer but not remove all files.
Deleting cookies is not enough its just for the internet…

do you have a cleaner? You may have picked up a few bugs, and cleaning the cookies may not be enough. Also, is it the computer that is slow or the browser you are using?
If you are using IE, that can run very slow and make it seem like it is your comp- or it could be your connection is being sluggish. Sometimes we think it is our comp when it isnt try these 2 things, both are free and work very well- and maybe ccleaner will help

is it possibly your connection today? what OS XP.
VISTA? sounds like your going down the right path, but if your connection is slow today, nothing you can do, other than what you have done try disk cleanup. and is this all sites? or just YAHOO?
you can also use a registry cleaner!

It might be a virus, have you tried any anti-virus programs, scanned your computer,
But let's say it's not a virus.
You might have a lot of programs running, or a lot of processes that with your "experience" you can't see them because they are "hidden".
you need to install TuneUp Utilities and turn off all the unnecessary startup programs

it may be a virus or some sort of malware… download all the free anti-virus, malwares, spamwares, etc that you can have, install it and run it all at once.
If still nothing happens, re-format your Harddisk. Works everytime.

If you have Vista, its probably Vista's fault. so many errors on ours. Viruses?

do a virus and spyware scan, viruses and spyware can slow down your pc.
use ccleaner, excellent at cleaning up your system, if you want it email me, i use it and love it.
are you running two firewalls by chance? that'll slow you down and could shut you down.
email me and let me know what security software you use, that would help ms.d
also, it may be the site which means there is nothing you can do about it, 360 runs slow for me all the time and my pc is brand new, if the server is slo you can have the best pc on earth and it will not matter.
