I built my computer (Vista 64 bit) and it has run perfect for about 7 months. All of a sudden it is running extremely slow, my internet runs slow and my games also run slow and even when I move my cursor over the desktop with no programs running it skimps and jumps around (wired mouse).
I have tried everything I can think of to get it running quickly again. I have Avira antivirus and have run multiple checks and nothing ever shows up. All sites and games run slow, so it is not one in particular. I have defragmented my hard drive and backed off on my overclock. It has been perfectly stable at 3.6ghz but I backed it down to 3.
I had recently installed Xfire and upgraded Firefox 2 to Firefox 3, and that seems to be when the problems started. I have since uninstalled both but it is still slow. I am pulling my hair out over this because it has gotten to the point that I can’t even watch a youtube video anyomre without lag and it takes several seconds to open up a word document.
I have lots of experience with computers but nothing I do seems to help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i think Firefox 3 has bugs in 64 Bit Vista - and you need to do a system restore.

try~”ccleaner”(free) removes temp files and cookies left by browsing.
go into “system tools ” run ~disk cleanup~and more options~system restore and shadow copies~you may have several “unwanted restore points” all taking up memory~de-frag disk.
check in media players~if you have more than 1 each library may have a copy of music/videos/pictures~also if more than 1 photo program~check each may have a copy~check also”my” documents/pictures/music a copy of every thing is stored here as well
it is possible that you could find 20/30GB’s + of memory tied up
hope this helps

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause “computer slow”.
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you’ve installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it’s Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
