A few weeks ago I paid over $200 to have my computer all cleaned up. There were a ton of viruses and junk. I had xp2 and now have xp3, along with all the proper security stuff, which I was not using before. So then it ran pretty great for about a week, though during that time there were a few times where everything was slow. But later in the day it would be back to normal. Now, as of a couple of days ago, everything is very slow, all the time. Delays in typing text (like right now!)…everything…Not just the internet, but just doing anything on the computer in general. I can’t seem to find any problems. Have done the disk cleanup, etc. What can I check next to try to figure this out? I’ve got both IE and Firefox. The Firefox seems to run a bit faster, but still not as fast as before. I’m not super knowledgable about computer stuff in general. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You probably got another virus.

Hate to tell you but it sounds like you’ve got spyware again. Are you going onto MySpace or any other social networking sites. If you are, that $200 you spent was pretty much just wasted because you’re just headed back down the same road.
SP3 CAN slow you down a little bit but not that noticeably.
Good luck

Format your hard drives, it's easy, but will take a little time. You'd be surprised you paid someone 200 dollars to do something you could do in 30 minutes. I will message you my MSN just in case you have questions.
Good luck,
Dan

Right-click your taskbar, select “Task Manager”, select the “Processes” tab and look for whatever’s using the cpu close to 100%. There has to be something if even typing text is slowed down. If you know you don’t need that particular process just kill it. And make sure it doesn’t start automatically at boot (”Start” -> “Run” -> msconfig for that).
In the future you might want to do the cleaning yourself as it won’t cost you $200 (if you which tools to use).
