so you want to speed up your computer?
there are a few things to do to get your computer faster
first thing we are going to tackle is getting rid of unnecessary programs
go to start>run>type msconfig
the last 2 tabs are services and startup
on the services tab make sure that "Hide all Microsoft Services" is checked. now un check everything there except your antivirus program. on the startup tab un check everything but your antivirus again. click apply and close. it will ask you to restart. let it restart. when your computer comes back from the reboot, a long screen will pop up. check the box that says dont show at startup and your good!
is your computer faster yet? im sure that it turns on alot faster now then it did before!
now you should free up disk space.
open internet explorer and go to tools and options. in the middle where it says temporary internet files click on delete files. if will ask you to confirm, and ask if you want to do offline content also. check it off and click ok. what temporary internet files are is, they save sort of a snapshot of a website when you visit it like yahoo.com, so the next time you access it it loads alot faster because alot of the info is stored locally on your pc. while its going on you will get an hourglass. your computer isnt frozen, its just working. depending on the last time you did it, it might take a few seconds or a few minutes. once its done click the settings button next to it. on the bottom where it says amount of disk space to use change that number to 25mb. and click ok. yes it will take 2 seconds longer to open a page, but its better then waiting on a slow computer. the larger that folder is the longer it will take to load, because each time you go to a website it checks that list. so the smaller the list the faster the new page loads.
next you should delete files from recycling bin. right click on recycling bin and select empty recycling bin. this deletes anything that was in there.
you should also uninstall old programs. you can do that from 2 places. start> control panel> add/remove programs or from ccleaner(described in next paragraph) and go to tools and delete programs you installed but dont use anymore.
you should also run a disk cleanup. this will delete all unnecessary files on your computer. this scan WILL take several minutes to run and several more to complete. start> all programs> accessories> system tools> disk cleanup.
i also recommend running a disk error check. this checks the hard drive to make sure that it is funtcioning at 100%. go to start> my computer. right click on the c drive and go to properties. on the tools tab click check now in error-checking. this will scan the hard drive to make sure everything is ok. first do it with only scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. then if it does have issues run it again with both scan… and automatically fix file system errors.
now what you want to do is download the following programs Auslogics Disk Defrag and Registry Defrag. also get ccleaner. the links to get all of these are at the bottom. first you want to install em all. the first program you want to run is the Disk Defrag. (before you run the actual scan go to settings on the top right and go to the second tab and check off both boxes. also change speed from normal to highest) once this scan is done run ccleaner. this will clean and fix your registry. click the registry button and then scan for issues. once its done click fix selected issues. it will ask you if you want to backup your registry ***** make sure that you back it up!!!!!!***** save it in the default location most likely in the my documents folder. once this is done you will have 3 options. choose fix all selected issues. and ok the pop up. once its done click close. ( helpful hint- i recommend running this program each time you install or uninstall a program on your computer) you should keep scanning until you only get a few issues like less then 10. and dont forget to save each time!
at this point i recommend running the disk defrag again. now your computer will be alot cleaner. final product to run is the Registry Defrag. this is another tool that will fix the registry. make sure that nothing else is running when you run this product!!! it will also force you to reboot when its done.
after your computer comes back run ccleaner and make sure that you dont get any or many issues. if you do let it fix them again. finally run the disk defrag one final time to make sure everything is 100%
i know that this seems like alot but in the end run it will save you alot of time. your computer will run alot faster and smoother now that the system has been cleaned out.
lastly to make sure that your computer stays this good make sure that you run the 2 defrags and ccleaner atleast once a month. i know that windows has its own form of disk defrag, but it takes along time and it misses alot. if you need proof, run the windows version from start> all programs> accessories> system tools> and disk defrag. analyze and defragment. when it says its 100% done run the auslogics one and see how much it missed!
few more things
you can also possibly upgrade the processor and the memory inside your computer
to upgrade the processor call your computer manufacturer like dell or hp etc and give them your service tag and ask them if it would be worth it to get the best processor for your computer. if it will increase speed alot then i suggest getting it.
to upgrade memory go to http://www.crucial.com and select scan my system. this will scan your computer and tell you what you currently have, and it will suggest what you can do to improve it. if you already have the max that means you cant get any better sorry. but if you can upgrade i recommend it. ** never buy it from the computer manufacturer they will over charge you alot! they charge usually 50-80$ american more then crucial.
this is about all that you can do to speed up your computer! i hope this information helps
if you have any other computer questions feel free to either ym me or email me and ill be more then happy to answer them!
have a good one!

Well im a computer tech, 1st year.
It sounds like u just basically have afew viruses on your machine but ill adivice you on what to do.
1) Go to start, adminstrative tools, disk management
look at the bar and see how much of it is uneccesary space.
if it seems that alot of it is uneeded and u dont value anything that greatly on your machine, do a disk cleanup, it will clean out your hardrive of uneccesary files.
2) after that, i sudjest you get an anti virus program, and delete all viruses on your machine, and put up your firewall tight so you dont get any viruses again,
Do this you should be good to go gl
