Why is my laptop in even worse shape after I ran a full scan of Symantec Antivirus?

April 20th, 2009 · 3 Comments

I ran a full scan of symantec antivirus and my laptop is in even worse shape than it was before! There are now pop-ups and it randomly crashes. How can I fix this? Also, I'm having a hard time trying to find where I can turn the antivirus stuff back on!

I'm a PC and I hate my life.

Yup, that's time to reload your operating system and start from new.

Copy all your documents to disk then reinstall Windows using your reload or recovery options.

Install AVG free (don't use Norton or any other paid for anti virus) then scan you documents that you saved to disk and reload the safe ones.

      Easy peasy!

I'd recommend deleting Symantec Antivirus and replacing it with Avast - it's free and the best out there. Also run a weekly CCleaner and Adaware scan - they are also free.

These are the best things since sliced bread and they really work well.

Once you've done that, try defregmenting the hard drive (Start - Accesories - System Tools - Disk Defrag)

      Hope that works!
