why is my PC so freakin’ slow???

I have a Dell Optiplex GX260 with aP4 processor running at 3.06 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, the 64 MB built-in graphics card and a 160 GB H.D. running at 7200 rpm. I have no programs running all the time (limewire, bittorrent,etc). I have scanned for viruses and spyware and deleted all infected files (they were mainly tracking cookies) I even disabled the startup items with an msconfig. I deleted the cookies and all the temp. I.E. files. I have also uninstalled all unnecessary programs. And when I start my computer in the morning it is VERY slow. Why is that???
