I just recently purchased my first mac, and overall I'm impressed with the interface.
But for some reason, Safari seems to take forever to load web pages. If I put it side-by-side with my 3 year old windows PC running explorer, explorer will only take a few seconds or less in most cases, but Safari will take 10 seconds or more. Sometimes the page will NEVER load until I hit refresh.
Also, in most cases, if I click the refresh button immediately after clinking on the link to the page, Safari will load the screen right away. So obviously, Safari can load the screens quickly, but why do I have to click refresh every time in order to do this?
Is there some setting where Safari is doing a lot of content checking or something that gets bypassed when I hit refresh?
If so, how do I get safari to just display the page right away like with a windows PC?
This is really annoying, and I can't believe that mac users would put up with this. There must be something wrong with my set-up or my PC.

Hmm…. Either you have something wrong with Safari, or I dunno…
You should try out another browser, like firefox.

Go to an Apple store and find out.

It's just you. Make sure your mac has a good internet connection. A good way to test this is to install Firefox 3 on it and see if it loads pages faster. If Firefox loads the page faster, then it's just Safari. If Firefox is just as slow, either you got something big running in the background, or your Mac doesn't have a very good internet connection.
No no EErikaa, she's running Safari on her Mac, not her PC.

You probably don't have enough memory.
Once you open Safari, click on Safari then Reset Safari. Reset everything. Also you should robably reinstall your entire operating system and buy more memory.

safari has always been the fastest browser for me but I don't use it because half of the sites i go to are not compatible wit it, most likely there is a problem with the Internet connection, maybe a virus, you might want to scan for malware and viruses
