Why isn’t my antivirus program removing trojan virus?

July 16th, 2008 · No Comments

The program i use is Symantec Norton AntiVirus. On my taskbar it says that 2 items are affecting my computer and i believe both of them are trojans and i know where i got them from. The problem is dat after i ran a full system scan on my computer, it said dat there were no threats found, but on the taskbar it still said dat 2 items are affecting my computer. the trojan was also turning off my "internet security" thing. There was a check box to turn it on and off and when i clicked it to turn it off, i got an error message and it turned it back off. seems like it doesnt want me to turn it on. Lately, i've also been getting unwanted popups. an icon on my taskbar would say "system message" then after 5 seconds it opens up my internet browser and goes to a website where it asks me to download an antivirus program cuz there were viruses in my comp. i've also been experiencing non responding windows occasionally where some windows would freeze.im pretty sure its not my antivirus program.
