I had a trojan virus called Generic.dx it would not allow me to access McAfee web site or run a fix to start my anti virus ( I have there anti virus service) sometimes I would be redirected to unwanted sites etc. but when you do a search for this trojan I was surprised that "McAfee" name appears along with it with almost every search?? Could it be that McAfee was the source of it ? Why no other anti virus companies are vulnerable? I just paid McAfee $100 to get rid of it hhhmmm

I think that software companies are the reason for a great majority of the viruses that are out there so we have to buy anti-viruses to combat the problem.

how do you know it's not the people who make the antivirus products the same people who put these viruses on the web to get you to buy their product. I wasn't serious it was just a thought though

Maybe that McAfee thing is infected by Trojan and Spyware.
Try downloading AVG with Malwarebytes to get rid of them.
Remember to uninstall the McAfee AntiVirus first.
If AVG and Malwarebytes can settle the problem, uninstall both two and continue using McAfee.
Actually, i dont recommend you to use McAfee but you have pay for it.
So just use the McAfee.
Here is the download link :

It's likely that the virus some how targets that anti virus software…
I doubt that McAfee actually produced a virus to target its own product.

what you need ?? Virus or Antivirus ??
So, Mean while Anti virus software cannot be sold if they have no VIRUS to threat , right??
Why you not try to find out more information about those virus in another ?? No one can be 100% threat all of it.
