Someone else mentioned that the latest Winamp update contained a virus…. I have not personally used winamp for several weeks. (I rarely use windows anymore… I use Linux Mint with Songbird media player.)

It should update the next time that AVG issues definitions, they could have mistakenly put Winamp in as a Trojan Virus by accident.

It is most likely a false positive, which means sometimes the AVG virus database updates will accidently detect a program/file as a virus, when it really isn't. This happened a few days ago with a popular online game, and took a few virus definition updates until it was finally resolved.
You can report false positives to AVG and they'll work on fixing it. Also remember to update your AVG version often cause the next update might fix it.
